1 year and 10 months

Today was cold as ever. :/ It was bad enough there was rain and wind..things got just quite out of hand with the internet as well. More problems start to pile up and sometimes I wish I could just leave it really? Wish I didn't have to come here to study..I could have stayed back and studied back at One Academy. Sadly enough, I didn't feel inspired when I was back in the One. Don't get me wrong. I love the people there. I love my friends and stuff, and the lecturers were good people. But I realised my dream towards graphic design keeps failing as I moved continued studying. That's when I made the biggest decision to move here. London.

And it was perhaps a good decision. I learnt much more, gained experience and recognition and everyone is just so lovely.

Then again!

Today is a very special day. It's our anniversary month once more. Call me childish but everytime around this day, I will reread our history chats from the day we first started chatting on skype till now. Some were random, some were funny..while some..were painful to read. I admit..I'm quite a difficult person to handle. I can get really moody, have horrible mood swings and a lil bit dumb with things. But if there's one thing I would ever ask from my lover..all I ever want is his love in return and heart. I am trying to be a better person..and I hope he can see it. At times it's difficult to talk through this device called skype and that I don't get to see him everyday. At times, I shouldn't be so selfish. But I just do miss him. I miss him altogether .I miss talking to him, sleeping next to him, tickling him, making weird faces with him, eating together with him..and so much more. I wish I can fast forward the year again. Summer please do come quick!

Heheh! I tried making him a cake..well it didn't go too well. There's no pictures of the ugly monstrosity. Hahaha! But there's picture of us together before I left!

We wondered how it would be like kissing with our teeth. HAHA.

Our glamorous photos!

And internet recently has been quite the bitch. I think this whole week I barely talked to him..but I hope it'll get better tomorrow :(

Once again, Happy anniversary baby! :D I love you.

Progress for work

Hello guys. Sorry, I've been really busy with work but the progress so far has been quite good. Yesterday, we hit quite a few major walls before going on the right path. It was quite overwhelming to see so many different opinions and styles coming all together which I find it good but I was left with so much frustration, it annoyed me to no end. Not to mention, everyone was feeling so ill. But I'm glad things worked out quite well.

The progress is very slow but I will definitely post some awesome updates. If it isn't clear enough, we're doing guides about umbrellas! Quite amazing huh? The designs are still in the process (layouts, layouts, layouts) but I think it's a great start :)

I'm actually typing this from the library..cause well, might as well make some time and use of the library! :D

I shall edit this later..I think.

Octoberfiesta!

Hello! So Halloween is next week and I'm pretty sure you know what that means! WOOT. Partay time! Haha, funny. I'll be stuck at home (once again) and just minding my own business, doing work. BOOHOO. But yeah, it kindda reminds me back in high school, Andrea and I use to go out trick a treating at her old housing area at Sungai Buloh. It was one of the best nights of my life. That is because it was my first time alright! I do want to show you some pictures of my Halloween past costumes/experiences. Let's travel back in time shall we?!

31st October 2006:

This was when Andrea and I started our very first Halloween trick a treating.

Please do not laugh though I can't seem to help myself! I look SERIOUSLY LIKE A GHOST HERE. HAHAHA. It's really hilarious hahah. I think that day, I didn't bring a costume thinking I'll just go in my school uniform but her mom kindly lend me Andrea's yukata and I turned out looking really horrible, which is the whole point HAHAH. I think her brother was a vampire. Andrea here, is Rogue from X MEN. That explains her white fringe yeah. That year we had so much goodies but we were quite rowdy with the neighbours. As in, we will seriously bang on the door until the neighbour came out and saw our faces (particularly my face) and almost died from a shock haha. But yeah, it was fun overall! I really do miss this to be honest cause it was one of the best first halloween nights of my life.

31st October 2007

So again, this year we had a superb halloween fest and our group's expanding as we speak haha! I decided to be an emo rock star LOL. I still can't get over the fact to how I still dress until like that. It was really funny, I just can't help laughing now that I look back at the pictures. Catherine was similar to my theme I guess, emo kid from the block. Andrea, ahahah! Cleopatra! My God. I still am laughing even after all the years alright. It's just too funny. Gabriel's a ninja while Jason's the Scream guy. I had so much fun this year as well. Pretty exciting and good fun.

31st October 2008

Andrea moved to a new house then so yeah, the surroundings are a little different but overall, it was the best :) Same crew from the year before and still rocking it as ever. So like it goes, I'm the emo kid as well as another friend of mine, Ga Luoh. Cat's the witch, Andrea the pirate and Gabriel the fucked up Joker haha!

I was supposed to be the emo kid. HAHAH. I feel so stupid looking back at all the photos but hey! It was good fun.

I miss all these! :( I wish I could come back and reunite again! On another note, I am thinking of colouring my hair to an ashy colour with blue ends :) I was looking for the perfect fit and I found one!

credits to Qiu Qiu! :) She's so gorgeous isn't she?! I love watching her Budget Barbie because she's so enthusiastic and generous. I use to really not like her that much because I thought it was pretty annoying but after a while, she really made me quite happy. Nevertheless, her hair is gorgeous! This is what I want to go for! :) But I'm not sure I can rock the look :/ I might get a fringe...but hmmmmmm. I am still thinking! Besides, my hair is sort of blonde below so I don't think I need bleaching that much (unless they trick me) Because her hair previously was like mine. Maybe really close. So it might work? :) I am just hoping really cause I love this colour!

I'm not a fan of purple/pink but I love this colour on her as well! I do like the blue better so I think I might the one above but dye the blue in different sections like hers? I don't know! I just love it!

Hehehe alright, time for me to get packing for my group project xx

Kelly Why's birthday!

First off, happy birthday Miss Kelly Why! Kelly is my amazing flatmate and I absolutely adore her. She helped me a lot when I was having trouble with the taxes and returned, I cooked her birthday dinner! Well not all of it but I did make one special meal that night which is the frittata!

Yes I am aware it looks like a burnt cake but don't be deceived by it! It's actually tasty much to my relief. I overbaked the top part a little cause I put a lot of cheese on top of it plus the cookbook says 30 minutes but actually you only need around like 25 minutes tops. So yeah my bad on that but it tasted good anyways!

Fondue! :) Yes I think you might have noticed the candles. We didn't buy the jelly flame thing to light it up so this was another alternative. Heheh, we had like chips, pears, frittata, bread and omg, pasta. Kelly's boyfriend cooked 4 CHEESE PASTA. YES FOUR DIFFERENT CHEESE. It was so good and fattening. I only had like a small piece of my frittata plus the cheese pasta and I was already full. I didn't want to overeat as well so I was really slowing down. But man, that meal was like the most fattening meal of my life. But it was all good fun. Might want to tone it down today. Just had some bread and chocolate cake eeps! :/

Aside from that, I've finally bought new jeans for myself! I'll prolly wear it tomorrow and they're super comfortable and worth every pound! It's only 9 pounds for those jeans! It's from H&M between and I've been eying on some shoes over there for quite some time. Don't get me wrong. The only pair of shoes I wear almost about everyday right now are my converse and my very worn out flats from Tiamo. They're horrible at this rate but I do love them very much. Sadly, time to let it go. I'm gonna get those pairs next month or something. Yes I have one in mind already and it looks good! Though the comfort level is still quite questionable because the back part is quite hard but when I wore it, it's actually not so bad! Besides, I'll be wearing some socks as well so it's all good :)

Hahah, need to get back to work :) tooloo! xx

Another day, another research

I have decided to well keep this blog update for my daily adventures with the project and other shenanigans that happened! After yesterday's failed ordeal to film, today was our last try to film! For your information, we are supposed to film a 1 minute video of interviewing people and collecting data as we go. Yes it didn't rain which was quite unfortunate but we were able to collect some interesting data. I think the most interesting part of the entire interview was getting them to write umbrella in their own native languages! Now, I know how to say umbrella in 12 languages! Interesting right?! I know you guys are jealous :P But seriously, some of the language barriers are really similar to each other so they sound quite similar altogether which is quite an interesting observation!

Some people on the other hand were of course ignorant and some just didn't seem to bother. But I really don't mind because at one point, it's funny how we stray away from those who keeps stalking us to do surveys and upon doing the same thing, it's difficult. I have a whole level of respect for them. *salutes*

We went around Covent Garden as well as Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus. After interviewing people around, we gathered at Cafe Nero for a quick recap on our ideas. At this point, my bladders were aching to release hell. Without hesitation, I rushed into the bathroom (note: it was a unisex bathroom) and without realising anything, I rushed into it and saw a man standing there doing this business. Of course, the damn door wasn't locked! He didn't lock it! I was scared shitless, and ran straight out apologising all the way.

I was a bit nervous to return back to the toilet after a while but I was about to burst therefore, I didn't care any longer. I made sure I locked my door as well! Anyways, we returned home shortly after the long day. Well technically we started around 12.30 and finished around 4.35? It was fun overall. No pictures shall be revealed until I edit the video!

Too loo! xx

Dinner with good friends

I had the most amazing night out with these three girls here! I've known them for a year and things have changed so drastically! My good friend, Daisy (the one in the middle) is going away to Australia to work! I'm going to miss her oh so badly! I've known her for a year and it feels like forever. I love hanging out with her and going on crazy shopping sprees with her. My awesome buddy!

I've known Tori (blonde on the left) for about the same time and she's the first friend I ever made back in our diploma days! Jo (on the right) is also my very first few friends I made back then. I'm glad Jo's still doing the course with me while Tori's interning at a graphic design centre at the moment! Time flies! Everyone's doing their own thing. From Indian food, to white wine and to amazing services (awesome ice cream btw) definitely, a night to remember. Looking back at our Cornwall pictures, it's been ages! I miss it so badly!

Miss you guys <3

Working

It's already the 3rd week and I can feel a headache coming! What's up guys! The week has been quite interesting so far. To be honest, I'm a bit sad today about the filming. I would love to film today regardless of the weather conditions but well eventually, there's always a price to pay when there's group work. Especially when your members are facing problems and such. Sometimes, I feel like as a person, I've been quite an individual worker all my life so far. I work alone most of the times (no thanks to my lecturer who trained me this way) If you don't know me, I work extremely fast and I always want to get things done. But this course has taken a different toll on me. I think what's important at the moment is to really embrace and explore different options. I am starting to feel that, it's quite an interesting ordeal. Yes, it's tough working in a group especially I'm a person who wants to get things done right away and produce the best I can. But today made me realised like, you know, I've gotta slow down and absorb what I know. Reflect on yesterday's workshop and the day before.

I realise it's time for me to you know, stop trying so hard to make it to the finish and enjoy what I can with the process. So far, I am enjoying it. I just need time to take it in and absorb slowly.

Funny incident

Hello guys! So today I had a group meeting with my mates. It was quite productive and we progressed quite a bit. We definitely had our schedules ready and down for the filming. It's been a stressful week so far but I have a feeling we can do this. I'm quite glad to pair up with some amazing and dedicated people. Oh! I also cooked lunch for them as well! It's been a while since I cooked anything big for people so it was a challenge!

I cooked some pork belly with sauce as well as some chow mein noodles (well I just call it noodles) It's actually really easy to make it! I do know I'm vegetarian but I try to make some meat dish for my friends on occasions.  Here's what I added for the pork belly dish.

For the pork belly dish, I marinated the pork with some maggi seasoning, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, thyme, oil, salt and pepper. Marinated them and let it cool in the fridge so that it could absorb the sauce. Afterwards, I chopped up some red peppers and garlic. I fried the garlic in first for like 3 minutes to get the flavour and aroma before adding the pork in. Once I added the pork in, I let it fry for about 5-10 minutes (really I think it's all about trusting your instincts haha) and then I add in the pepper and season it some more with some salt and pepper as well sauces. I put in some thyme to get that nice flavour and fry for about 10 minutes....and wala! My friends keep telling me it tasted almost like a Hong Kong dish so I am proud to say..I CAN COOK CHINESE FOOD.

For the chow mein noodles, I fry in some garlic (I used four cloves of it) for about 3 minutes or so before adding the onions in. After mixing the two together, I put in mushrooms and fry it for about 5 minutes. I also added some water to the mixture so that the noodles won't be very dry if you know what I mean. But please do note to not add too much water because the mushrooms itself will be excreting water so it'll get too soggy. After that ordeal, I add in the red peppers to get that nice colour and flavour. I have learned how much red peppers can have such amazing flavours ever since I cooked paella so don't miss out on that! After stirring for about 2-3 minutes, I added the noodles in and stir around for like 3-5 minutes. I added some dark soy sauce, light sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil and some maggi seasoning as well as thyme, and white pepper not forgetting salt. Mix them all up and you get your noodles! Honestly, it's not chow mein...I think it's just my own variation of food. But ahem! Yeah, simple easy meals to cook! I'm glad the team enjoyed it.

Moving on to our session, I was glad we got some work done. Made some crucial decisions as well as understanding what we need to produce and do.

Even with such seriousness, something hilarious happened.

After 3 hours of brainstorming and sorting out ideas, one of my group members decided to go outside my balcony for a smoke. Let me give you a little insight of my balcony. My balcony door has been broken for quite some time and it's not exactly a sturdy door so most of the time, we usually just leave the door open regardless smoke or not. Of course, my group mate didn't want the smoke to get in the flat so he insisted to close the balcony door. So me being the smartass, closed it halfway and left it there. You see, if you close it halfway, you obstruct the mechanism inside, causing it to well, stuck. And you guessed it, the door was stuck and he was outside, shivering.

It took 4 of us to pry the door up and it still didn't budge. We were at out wits end and the only resort was well, to go down to the reception area and call for assistance. While that took quite some time, I went up to check on my friend (he's still outside in the cold and shivering) and we decided to well continue with our meeting. So for the past 20 minutes, this was how we discussed our work.

I know, aren't we so dedicated?! Even at such situations, we still go through this nonsense! Yes as you can see, the door was clearly stuck. So after what it seems like an eternity, the maintenance people came to check on the balcony door. With one hand, that man pry open the entire door and fixed it back at place. We were like THE FUCK? How the hell did he do that?!

Haha, good times :P But seriously, that was the highlight of the day haha!

Alright, I guess that's all for now. Time to work on the ideas and questions! tata xx

Hello! I was bored for the night so I decided to take some pictures of my awesome TEE! Mikvado is an apparel line by my talented friend, Micah. I bought one of his shirts recently as a moral support but I'm loving it so much! Been wearing it to college and such. Here's a few shots of me.

I was bored and being experimental.

Yes I love mah hair flip.

I really like this one a lot.

The Rain Room

Ever feel like you have the ability to control the rain? And that you can make it stop raining as you please or wherever you go?

That reality starts right here.

My group mates and my friends scoot over to the Rain Room exhibition at the Barbican Centre earlier today and it was pretty dope. The idea of just entering a rainy scenario and suddenly when you take your first small, slow step, the rain diffuses and stops. It's like you can control it with the power of your mighty feet haha. Or that you have super telepathic powers.

I say it was actually an experience. We were all waited for half an hour for like a 5 minute walk in the rain but it was sort of worth it. I quite like the feeling and I'm inspired once more. I have some pictures but it's from Loi (my awesome new friend :D) and his amazing fish eye lens (which I WILL GET...soon enough.) I didn't bring mine because I had my phobia with umm water.. and you know; water and camera don't mix very well.

Here are ze pictures!

From left; Loi, Olympia, Me, Max and Tae.

Joined by Cataline and Yvonne! :)

Yeah while waiting, this adorable little girl keeps playing with my shoes as you can see her mummy is pointing towards my shoes.

And she played with my bracelets as well! *melts*

We were so close to the entrance! Are you guys excited for what you're about to see?!

My lovely group mates from Hong Kong and Shanghai!

It looks like we're going to venture into another world! Haha! But honestly, that's about it from my Rain Room experience :) Would love to do it again to be honest but for now, work awaits.

Once again, thanks to Loi for the amazing pictures! xx
